The yellow cable (BATT/B+) should be connected to the constant power fuse in the fuse box of your car. To find a stable power source in the fuse box, use a voltage measuring instrument to check the fuse, ensuring that it has electricity even when the car engine is off.
The red cable (ACC) is only powered when the car engine is running. To test this, turn the engine on and observe if the light bulb on the measuring instrument lights up. When the engine is turned off, the light bulb should not be illuminated.
The black cable (GND) should be connected to the metal parts of the vehicle, such as the screw nails or metal parts near the fuse boxes in many cars.
The 11.5ft Mini USB hardwire kit is designed for powering a dash cam or other device with a Mini USB port, providing a 5V/3A steady output. The voltage input supports a range from 12V to 24V.
Instead of using the car charger connection, the hardwire kit should be connected directly to the car's fuse box. This creates a permanent, hidden cable that is easy to install. When connecting the hardwire kit, ensure that the red cable is connected to ACC, the yellow cable to BATT, and the black cable to GND (the metal part of the car).
The hardwire kit can be set to enable 24-hour parking monitoring mode. When the car is turned off, the kit will remain powered on for 24 hours to protect your vehicle.
The hardwire kit features multiple security protection measures, including low voltage protection. After 60 seconds, the kit will automatically cut off power if the voltage drops below 11.8V (±0.2). This prevents the problem of draining the car battery. The kit is not applicable for trucks with voltages above 24V. Other security features include over-current, short-circuit, reverse connection, and overheat protection.
